SQ reopens investigation into 1977 slaying of Hélène Monast
This is long overdue. I’m glad the SQ are having a presence in Parc des Ateliers where she was found, but frankly this should have been done 20 years ago:
The Sûreté du Québec has relaunched its investigation into the killing of Hélène Monast, whose body was found naked in a park along the Chambly Canal in Sept. 11, 1977.
A mobile command post will be set up Friday at Parc des Ateliers in Chambly as of 8 a.m. Anyone who might have information is asked to stop by to talk with an officer. Confidential information can also be shared by calling 1-800-659-4264.
The day before her body was found, Monast walked through the park so she could celebrate her 18th birthday with her godmother.
The SQ has a website for cold cases, Crimes non résolus.
