The Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (BAnQ) have an amaaaazzzing 1970s photo essay about the then state of the art Medical-Legal crime lab at the Surete du Quebec.
I believe the photographer is Jules Rochon, and here are some samples. You can check out all 67 photos here and here:

“”Really… the SQ had an ”AMAAAZING” STATE OF THE ART Medico-Legal Crime Lab at their Montreal Parthenais Headquarters way back in the 1970`s…. EH ? SO! Why the ‘F’ didn`t they use it properly and to fullest advantage to solve the 100`s of cases of the Murdered Victims of Quebec during every year of every decade of the 60`s, the 70`s, the 80`s, the 90`s + + + ……. The Public does not know the TRUTH about the number of unsolved victims of Murder in Quebec….
And of the PATHETIC success rate of the Police Forces across Quebec in the past 50 years.
