MONTREAL – A construction worker has found human remains near the Mercier Bridge construction site.
The Mohawk Peacekeepers were called in to investigate Monday afternoon after a skull and other remains were found in a wooded area on the Highway 138 service road, near the bridge.
The remains have been sent to a provincial crime lab for analysis and identification, said Jody Diabo, assistant chief of the Kahnawake Peacekeepers.
Diabo said she had no idea whether the remains are those of Tiffany Morrison, a 25-year-old Mohawk women who went missing in June 2006. Morrison had been in a bar in LaSalle when she shared a taxi ride back to Kahnawake with a man from the community.
She has not been heard from since.
